Skateboard Gecko - "G. Gordon McFly,"

Fourteen feet high, a larger-than-life bright green gecko is perched on a pedestal wearing headphones, propelling itself on a purple skateboard. Named "G. Gordon McFly," the gecko was sculpted by Gulfport artist Ray Domingo, who pitched the idea to the city as a tribute to "Gulfport's eclectic side." The gecko has his eyes closed in bliss, oblivious to whatever obstacles might be ahead; this may be eclectic but it's also a surefire way to crash on a skateboard. The gecko was dramatically unveiled just before sunset in September 2022, at the culmination of Gulfport's annual Geckofest parade.
